Brett’s wedding took a serendipitous turn when she discovered her dream dress in Hungary, at Daalarna, while filming her new TV show. In this exclusive interview, the 22-year-old influencer offers a glimpse into her magical day, sharing her favorite wedding photos from the event.
How did you meet your husband?
Brett Cooper: We met through work in Nashville, TN, USA, but we had been crossing paths for over 15 years before we finally met. He and I grew up in the same town in Tennessee – just a few miles away from each other – and he even went to the same small high school as my brothers.
How was the proposal? We heard that it happened in Budapest. How come?
The proposal was beautiful! I spent the fall filming a TV show in Budapest, and on Alex’s first trip out to visit me, he proposed. He spent a day walking around all the famous Budapest sights and asking locals for advice, and he finally settled on Fisherman’s Bastion. He took me there at sunset one evening and proposed there on the steps. My close friend was hiding in the bushes taking pictures, and it was so special!
How did you choose your wedding location?
We wanted to get married close to home since we both grew up in Tennessee. It made sense to have our ceremony and celebration there since it’s close to all our family and friends and where we fell in love! The venue itself (The Venue at Birchwood) is owned by close family friends, so that made it even more special.
Did you choose a particular theme/style for your wedding? Tell us everything about the details!
We didn’t really choose a specific look or aesthetic, we just wanted everything to be very authentic, personal, and true to us. We focused more on working with vendors that we know and love – many of whom were personal friends, instead of chasing a specific style. My mother-in-law designed and arranged all the flowers, my bridesmaids picked their own dresses, we had a close friend make fun soaps as wedding favors, and my close friend drew pictures of our dogs that were printed on drink cups! It came together beautifully, but the best part was working with all of our loved ones.
How did you find out about Daalarna? Why did you decide to trust us with your dream dress?
After getting engaged, I was so excited to try on dresses, and my friend and I decided it would be fun to see what Budapest had to offer! Otherwise, I would have needed to wait until returning to the US in the new year. We found Daalarna and I fell in love with your dresses, and I was so grateful for how kind and experienced your team was.
How was your experience at Daalarna?
The team at Daalarna is truly unmatched. Their designs are incredible, to begin with, but they take so much care in making sure the dress is perfect for every different bride. I trusted them completely, and it was so special to find my dress in the place where we got engaged!

Why did you choose this specific style?
I chose this style because it was timeless and classic! It is beautiful, but simultaneously a bit understated so that it didn’t distract from what was truly important: our marriage. I didn’t want a dress that would be too overpowering.
How was the big day? What are your favorite memories from your wedding?
It truly was perfect. I was so relaxed and at ease, that I even took a nap in my dress before walking down the aisle! We keep looking over the photos reliving everything because it was truly the greatest day of our lives. Walking back down the aisle with my husband, and seeing all of our favorite people in one room was spectacular.
How did the wedding guests and your husband like your dress?
They LOVED it. It was an absolute showstopper, and I can’t count how many compliments I received. The team at Daalarna truly worked wonders with this dress!

Well obviously, Fisherman’s Bastion because that is where we got engaged! Such beautiful views and interesting history. I highly recommend having dinner at Dobrumba, and then stopping by Doblo Wine Bar for live music and wine afterwards! And if the weather is nice, you can’t go wrong with a walk through Margaret Island.
