On 20 June 2024, during the summer solstice celebrations, we hosted a magical Daalarna fashion show at Daalarna Garden, with nearly 1000 guests attending. Here is our recap of the fairytale show, the Daalarna MIDSUMMER Fashion Show 2024!
THE THEME OF THE DAALARNA MIDSUMMER FASHION SHOW
This year, we had an unusual and special Daalarna show because, this time, the concept was based on Midsummer Night. Midsummer’s Eve is believed to have special magical powers, the most mystical night of the summer. According to popular belief, on this day, anything can happen, wishes can come true, and magic can become reality.
An extra special feature of this year’s event was that Daalarna Garden in Szentendre opened its doors to the public for the first time, and we prepared a series of exciting activities to mark the occasion.
In addition to the two latest Daalarna collections – ILLUSION and WHITE SWAN – designer Anita Benes also presented special dresses designed exclusively for the occasion, and the BATZ X Daalarna sneaker collection made its debut on the catwalk. Here are all the 61 gorgeous looks:
BATZ X DAALARNA – NOT JUST A WEDDING SNEAKER
Daalarna has taken a bold step by teaming up with the esteemed shoe brand Batz to create an exclusive sneaker collection, perfect for brides who value comfort on their special day and for women who seek style, quality, and uniqueness in their footwear. The captivating designs are shaped by Daalarna’s signature elegance, while Batz’s decades of expertise ensure premium quality with no compromise on excellent materials and innovative solutions.
The Batz X Daalarna sneaker collection of 14 sneakers debuted at the show, and guests had the opportunity to try on and purchase the special collection of shoes for the first time on-site. And now anyone can order their favourite sneaker from Daalarna’s newly launched webshop.
Many Hungarian celebrities invited to the show have already designed their own outfits for a piece from the Batz X Daalarna sneaker collection, which was also white-themed thanks to this year’s dress code. Which outfit is your favourite?
DRESS CODE: WHITE
Of course, the dress code was also adapted to the unusual location: we were expecting our guests to be in comfortable/casual, weather-appropriate attire. All we asked was that they dress in a shade of WHITE, in keeping with the “midsummer” theme, and feel free to wear a floral crown if they feel like it. It was touching to see so many people turn up in colours to match their dress code, and we thank you so much for that!
THOUGHTS OF DESIGNER ANITA BENES
“The saying goes that anything can happen on Midsummer’s Eve. That’s exactly what I was thinking last night as we said goodbye to the last of our guests at Daalarna Garden. After the early spring shows of previous years, I was really looking forward to an event in the sunshine, outdoors, in a real festival atmosphere. If only because summer and the outdoors are the season for wedding dresses, it made the experience really authentic for the participants.
It was a particular pleasure to host the annual fashion show not at an off-site venue but at Daalarna’s country home, Daalarna Garden. It was also the first time that we had opened its doors to the public, as we had only organised private events there since the soft opening last year, but this year, we had all the conditions in place to present the latest Daalarna collections in a venue where brides could even have their own wedding.
What was also new compared to previous years was that while in previous years the presentations were held in front of an audience of thousands of people, this time we had a much more exclusive, personal event in mind, although in the end, there were still close to a thousand people in Daalarna Garden on the day.
For the Daalarna MIDSUMMER Fashion Show, we had an unforgettable evening together to celebrate the debut of the latest Daalarna collections as well as the Batz X Daalarna sneaker collection. I don’t think I could wish for anything more than what happened on June 20 thanks to the stars aligning, maybe just that this cathartic moment could last forever. (Of course, we did struggle a bit with the elements beforehand to make the celebration even more euphoric. 🙂 ) Thank you to my family, my team, our crew, our friends, our clients and our guests for sharing this magical night of the summer solstice in 2024!”
Thank you to everyone who attended this year’s show, either live or online! Here is a taste of the atmosphere at the 2024 Daalarna MIDSUMMER Fashion Show!
