We are excited to share a special inspirational photo shoot from the picturesque Daalarna Garden in Szentendre, captured by the internationally renowned Pinewood Weddings duo, Levente Kádár and Enikő Várai. This Provence-style, nature-inspired wedding shoot centers around the estate’s stunning one-hectare lavender field, which is in full bloom in June. The shoot also highlights the venue’s additional outdoor possibilities.
Daalarna Garden: The Perfect Outdoor Wedding Venue
Anita Benes, owner of Daalarna and Daalarna Garden, shares her inspiration. She notes that many couples dream of an outdoor wedding, whether it’s under a shady tree, by the pool, in a wildflower meadow, or in a lovely grassy area with a flower arch. Daalarna Garden is designed to fulfill any of these dreams, while also offering a plan B in case of bad weather with its covered, glass-walled sections that open on all sides. This means there’s no need for an emergency marquee that can obstruct the view and create a sense of enclosure. Couples can enjoy the beautiful scenery and gardens even in the rain.
Daalarna Garden offers a wide range of options for the ceremony, the waiting area, creative photography, and the dinner, making each wedding here unique, special, and personalized. The 5-acre estate provides plenty of opportunities for family celebrations, while also offering secluded areas where friends and new acquaintances can have quiet conversations.
A Slow Wedding Weekend
One of the great advantages of Daalarna Garden is its embrace of the slow wedding philosophy, allowing newlyweds and their guests to enjoy the venue from Friday to Sunday. This transforms the wedding into an intimate, familiar, and unforgettable long weekend with family, friends, and loved ones. “It’s worth making the most of these three days, as it’s a unique and unrepeatable occasion when so many family members and mutual friends celebrate together in one place,” advises Anita Benes.
Friday Evening: A Cozy Start
Friday evening is perfect for a cozy, American-style dinner filled with intimate conversations. Alternatively, couples can spend the evening alone together, setting the mood for the big day. With three bedrooms on the estate and a variety of accommodation options nearby, everything is set for a relaxed gathering. Service providers may arrive on Friday to prepare the grounds, allowing for a relaxed atmosphere to finalize any last-minute details.
Saturday: The Main Event
Saturday is the day of ceremony and celebration. You can relax indoors and get ready with the help of your makeup artist, hairdresser, and other service providers, eagerly awaiting the arrival of your guests. Daalarna Garden is perfect for daytime, evening, or nighttime ceremonies, allowing couples to tailor their big day to their imagination and style.
Sunday: A Relaxed Farewell
After a party that lasts until dawn on Saturday, Sunday can be a leisurely farewell with a crumble party, brunch, pool time, or a house mosaic. This slower pace ensures that the celebration is not just a fleeting moment, but a cherished memory for everyone involved.
Provence-Style Wedding Venue in Hungary
“We often find ourselves longing for the Tuscan or Provençal landscapes and weddings we see in films, with their enchanting ancient parks, vast spaces, and lavender fields. We aimed to create this cozy, rustic escape-from-the-city atmosphere at Daalarna Garden in Hungary while ensuring it feels perfectly at home here. Fortunately, Szentendre has a Mediterranean charm that makes it ideal for organizing Provence-style weddings.”
Daalarna Garden: Where Nature Takes Center Stage
In the styled shoot, the team used minimal decoration to allow Daalarna Garden’s outdoor features to shine. “The entire estate is already a stunning backdrop with its purple lavender fields, turquoise infinity pool, aristocratic plane tree rows, English garden, and perfectly imperfect wildflower meadow. For this shoot, we envisioned a beautiful yet natural flower arch on the wrought-iron gate as the setting for a civil ceremony or vow exchange, alongside the decorated table.”
One of the estate’s greatest treasures is its one-hectare lavender field, blooming from late May to the end of July, featuring eleven thousand lavender plants.
“We intentionally planted two varieties of lavender (one early-blooming and one late-blooming) to extend the season. Of course, the exact blooming dates can vary with the weather, but in June, you can almost certainly find the field in full bloom at Daalarna Garden.”
What is it about lavender fields that makes everyone long to capture themselves in photos amidst the purple blooms? “I’ve thought about this a lot, and I believe there isn’t another flower that exudes such a magical atmosphere in pictures. A sunset photo shoot in a lavender field will be an eternal memory for the couple, radiating a timeless charm even fifty years from now. Plus, the scent is incredibly calming; everyone should experience it while strolling through the garden.”
