Recently, Pantone has announced the colour of the year 2020, totally disregarding all the reform shades and returning to the classics. Next year everything will be draped in blue, for as they say the timeless and enduring blue hue is elegant in its simplicity.
When describing the shade Pantone emphasises that the colour is like the sky at dusk, darker than sky blue but lighter than midnight blue. In stark contrast to the previous vibrant colours such as “Living Coral” and “Ultra Violet” the ambiance rather symbolizes calmness and peace. Leatrice Eiseman the Pantone Colour Executive Director explains
“We are living in a time that requires trust and faith. It is this kind of consistency and confidence that is expressed by PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue, a solid and dependable blue hue we can always rely on.”
In the wedding world blue is not a new colour, in fact blue has enjoyed a symbolic significance for many years, yet is it always good to draw from the classics and daringly reach for strong, distinctive colours.
