‘We wanted to have a small, intimate wedding in Mexico that was a true celebration of our decision to spend forever together. We felt like a vacation to the Mexican beach with our closest friends and family was the perfect way to make that happen.’ – Alexis, the bride
Since we have a one-year-old son, it was clear from the beginning that we had to choose a family resort. My husband and I both love the beaches in Mexico and after one look at the pictures of the Azul Beach Resort in Riviera Maya, we knew it was the one.
The moment my son walked into the room where I was getting ready, I was brought to tears. He was so handsome in his navy suit and ready to watch mommy walk down the aisle to daddy. I couldn’t have imagined the day without him there.
At first when they came to me the morning of the wedding to share the weather forecast, I was devastated. My entire wedding was planned to be outside – from the oceanfront ceremony to the cocktail hour in a hut over the ocean to our first dance on the beach in the sand. Until someone reminded me, not only was it good luck for it to rain on your wedding day but, on the day my husband proposed to me, it was also raining.
Finally, we danced on the balcony where dinner was being served in the middle of all of our guests. It was so intimate and special.
