Wedding preparations right up to the eve of the big day are exciting, but also a little stressful for every bride. It is important to make time for some things, to relax and still keep everything under control so that on the big day itself you only have to concentrate on enjoying every moment of one of the happiest days of your life! Here are a few tips to follow on the eve of the big day!
1. Healthy eating
It is important not to have a heavy meal on the evening before your wedding to avoid not feeling well the next day. Choose some natural food, fruit and vegetables with a yoghurt dressing for example. That is light and will prepare you for the reception the next day. ?
2. A little bag for your personal belongings
On the morning of the wedding, when you are about to leave for the venue you will have plenty to think about apart from your dress and shoes. Having your bits and pieces, accessories, ID cards, and mobile phone can provide you with a great sense of security: a little bag doesn’t take up much room, but can prove indispensable!
3. Drink plenty
Drinking enough fluids is well known as a stress-reducing factor, and there will surely be some stress involved in the evening. You can also avoid dehydrating, and there will be a positive effect on your skin too. Prepare a bottle of water, keep it close to you and drink away all evening.
4. Restful, deep sleep
Try to get to bed at a reasonable time, don’t leave tasks for late in the evening, you will need all your energy!
5. Put your phone on quiet/aeroplane mode
To guarantee your sleep, put your phone on quiet or aeroplane mode. Once everything is organized then it is time to enjoy your beauty sleep.
6. Have everything ready in the car
If you want to be a really well-organized bride, who doesn’t panic about leaving something at home, then pack your bags and luggage and put them into the car the night before the wedding. Then all you have to do is get ready and enjoy a good breakfast.
7. Cash
In most places you can pay by card, but it is a good idea to have a few thousand forints at hand, to quickly settle any awkward or emergency situations.
8. Check the amount of money due to the service providers.
It is important to prepare separately the various amounts to be paid to the service providers, so you don’t have to spend time with this at the venue.
9. Survival set
A little pouch with enough hair clips, hair elastics and cotton buds may come in useful, and apart from that bandaids, painkillers, Betadine, and other first aid bandages just in case.
10. Print a list of service providers
If you would like to be very prepared and organized, then print a list of your service providers names, and their phone numbers, so that you can easily get in touch with anyone even at the very last moment.
11. A little love message to the groom
In the middle of all the things to do, don’t forget the reason for the bustle….. Let the groom know you are thinking of him and how much you love him. Don’t let the details take over, he will surely appreciate a thoughtful message!
12. Slip in your slippers
To make sure you stay on your feet all day slip in a pair of slippers which you can put on any time, to rest your feet.
13. A film to make you laugh
Whether it is a video, a photograph or something else, find something which is sure to make you laugh, and create a good atmosphere for the evening. Besides all the stressful organizing, it is good to find time to laugh too!
14. Manicure and pedicure
Any form of beautifying, including a manicure or pedicure, can be part of your relaxing programme. The important thing is that you are satisfied with everything on the day, especially yourself!
15. Giving thanks
Many people helped, stood beside you, and supported you with organizing the wedding day. It is important to express your thanks to your loved ones. Call them, hug those close to you and tell them how much their help meant to you.
16. An assigned person for the big day
To make sure that the full weight of the organizing, carrying out, and checking processes is not completely on your shoulders, have an assigned person, the wedding planner, matron of honour, your mum or someone else who can keep everything together so that you can enjoy the day, without constantly worrying about something.
17. Shoe fitting
On the evening before the wedding try on your shoes to make absolutely sure they will be comfortable on the big day. Walk around a little, and try out the dance steps to make sure it will all be perfect on the following day.
18. Check with the service providers
Leave nothing to chance, call the service providers to make sure everyone exactly when and where to go, and to check the name of the contact persons at the venue.
19. Beauty routine
The evening before your wedding is the last opportunity to beautify yourself for the big day. Allow yourself the luxury of a long relaxing bath, and facepack, so you are fresh and glowing as you walk up the aisle to the altar.
Beware! Don’t experiment with new cosmetic products before the day of your wedding as you never know how your skin will react!
