Where do we come from, and who do we become along the way? Daalarna’s latest collection, its most personal one yet, places this question at its very heart. BECOMING is inspired by the story of Sára – Benes Anita’s 25-year-old daughter, who became a bride this year – and her journey from the safety of her family home into a new world, where she set out to discover herself and find her own path.
Sára has known the world of Daalarna since childhood. She grew up surrounded by wedding dresses, before, years later, setting off towards an entirely different universe: the world of physics, research and the unanswered questions of the cosmos. Today, she is a PhD researcher in biophysics at Cambridge.
Two worlds that, at first glance, could hardly seem further apart. And yet, they are connected by the same sense of curiosity: the desire to understand, explore and reinterpret the world around us.
BECOMING was born from this meeting point: the story of a young woman who, after growing up among wedding dresses, travelled thousands of kilometres to find her own universe.

In the collection, femininity is not defined by a single, fixed form. Instead, it becomes a story of change, movement and discovery. This is reflected in the names given to its feminine, ethereal pieces, inspired by the worlds of science and astronomy: Eclipse, Vesper, Estelle, Althea, Mira. Each name creates its own atmosphere, while evoking a distinct story or a small universe of its own.

BECOMING is a story of both heritage and freedom. Of how a place can always remain home, even as you travel to the other side of the world to discover who you are.
This collection captures a moment in the midst of change.
BECOMING does not leave the past behind. It carries it forward. And builds upon it to create something entirely new.
